The Confluence Volunteer Fire Department fires up the town’s largest grill this Saturday, May 24, cooking 250 half-chickens over more than a dozen bags of Kingsford charcoal. Tom Close, longtime member and former chief of the department, is overseeing the operation.
Meals include two sides and a dessert and will be sold from the kitchen window of the Community Center starting at 11 a.m. — or until sold out, whichever comes first. Price depends on the cost of the chicken. Fowl prices can be foul.
Get there early. The Addison Volunteer Fire Department’s barbeque sold out last Sunday.
