Maker Days Bring Hands-On Art to Ohiopyle July 18 and 19
Touchstone Maker Days returns to Ohiopyle July 18 and 19 with free, all-ages artmaking, live demos, and an outdoor maker market at the old Falls City Church.
Ever watched molten glass take shape, or seen a potter pull a bowl out of a spinning lump of clay? This weekend you can do it without leaving the mountain.
Touchstone Center for Crafts brings Maker Days to Ohiopyle on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, running from 11 am Saturday through 4 pm Sunday at the former Falls City Church sanctuary and grounds at 1 Sherman Street. The event is free and open to all ages.

ach day features a rotating mix of artist tents, hands-on activities, and live demonstrations in clay, textiles, wood, metal, paper, and glass. There is also a curated outdoor maker market, so you can meet the artists, watch the work happen, and take a piece home directly from the person who made it.
Getting there is half the fun. The Great Allegheny Passage rolls right through town, so consider making it a ride: Confluence to Ohiopyle is an easy 11-mile spin downriver. As the GAP folks put it, you might leave with a little creative inspiration in your saddlebag.
