Lend a Hand on National Public Lands Day at Yough Lake
Help clean up the Youghiogheny Lake shoreline on National Public Lands Day, September 26. Gloves, equipment and lunch provided. Meet at the Klondike Pavilion.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is looking for helping hands to clean up the shoreline of Youghiogheny Lake, and it comes with lunch.
The cleanup is set for Saturday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in honor of National Public Lands Day. Volunteers meet at the Klondike Pavilion at the lake in Confluence.
Gloves and cleanup equipment are provided, so all you need to bring is yourself and a willingness to get your hands a little dirty. Lunch is on the house, courtesy of Friends for the Youghiogheny River Lake.
National Public Lands Day is the country’s largest single-day volunteer effort for public lands, and the Yough Lake shoreline is about as public, and as local, as it gets. After the summer we have had on the water, a little cleanup will go a long way.
Bring the kids, bring a friend, and give a few hours back to the lake that gives us so much. Meet at the Klondike Pavilion at 10.
