Turkeyfoot Valley Students Sing at the Flight 93 25th Anniversary
Turkeyfoot Valley students joined 42 Somerset County students performing at the 25th anniversary ceremony of September 11 at the Flight 93 Memorial.
Some of Turkeyfoot Valley’s own stood on hallowed ground this month.
A group of the school’s fifth through eighth graders took part in the 25th anniversary ceremony of September 11 at the Flight 93 Memorial, joining a chorus of 42 Somerset County students for the occasion. They performed as part of the county-wide tribute to the passengers and crew of Flight 93, who gave their lives near Shanksville a quarter century ago.
Turkeyfoot Valley Performing Arts said the students performed beautifully, and that they will carry the story forward. That is really the point of asking young people to sing at a place like the Flight 93 Memorial. Twenty-five years on, the story needs new voices to keep telling it, and Somerset County trusted its own kids with that responsibility.
