Using Your Voice: Poetry Workshops
Need a creative reset? Want to overcome writer’s block? April is National Poetry Month! On April 9, we will learn basic structures of poetry, techniques for crafting your own writing, and the importance of sharing your work aloud. On April 23, we will focus on found poetry using a blackout method. A writer takes an existing text – a page from a book, recipe – and redacts, or “blacks out,” the majority of the text to reveal a poem of select words.
