Shirley M. King, 83, Somerset, formerly of Markleton, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026 at her home. She was born April 26, 1943 in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, a daughter of Benjamin and Alice (Ohler) Kreger. Her parents, husbands Warren P. King and George W. Metz, and a son-in-law, Doc Kemp, preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters Debra Kemp, Confluence, Charlotte Stillwagon (Charles), Markleton, and Becky Saylor (Eric), Somerset; sons Stanley King (Tracy), Addison, and Bradley King (Angela), Alverton; brothers Raymond Kreger and Roger Porterfield, Confluence; sister Loretta Rugg, Confluence; niece Judy Barkley, Derry; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Shirley loved gospel and bluegrass music. Friends will be received from 11AM – 1PM Wednesday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will follow the viewing at 1 PM. Private interment in Old Bethel Cemetery.
