James L. Plume, 73, Niles, OH, formerly of Fort Hill, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at WVU-Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV, with his wife, Linda by his side. James was born July 30, 1952 in Confluence, a son of Denzil and Dorothy (Beachy) Plume. He grew up in Fort Hill and graduated in May of 1970 from Turkeyfoot Valley Area High School, Confluence. In August of 1970, he began work at the General Motors assembly plant in Lordstown, OH, where he retired after 36 years employment. In May of 1971, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Linda Lytle and they spent the next 55 years together enjoying raising their family. Jim enjoyed staying active over the years, hunting, fishing, boating and golfing. His mother, Dorothy “Duck” preceded him in death. He is survived by his father, Denzil, Fort  Hill, his wife, Linda, children, Michael Plume (Betina), Lawton, OK, Jennifer Crawford (Dennis), Silver Creek, GA and Melissa Powell (Jon), Warren, OH; grandchildren, Amanda, Sean, Lexi, Michael and Gianna; great grandchildren, Kayden, Winter, Micah and Emerson; a sister, Joyce Martin (James), Somerset and a brother, Stanley Plume, Fort Hill. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday with Jim’s brother-in-law, Pastor Ernest E. Pletcher officiating. Interment will follow in Jersey Cemetery. There will be viewing one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
