Blue Hole: A Community Remembrance
The Mountain Watershed Association hosts Blue Hole: A Community Remembrance on Saturday, August 1, at Blue Hole Spring in Forbes State Forest, off Blue Hole Road near Rockwood in Somerset County.
The remembrance ceremony begins at 10 a.m. and will include short readings, possibly an acoustic song or two, and time to share stories. Attendees can drive and park at Blue Hole for the 10 a.m. start, or park at the old CCC Camp at 9:30 a.m. and bike to and from Blue Hole. Dress for the weather and bring water, snacks and bug spray. The event honors a creek the association says has been polluted, and stands in solidarity to demand stricter action from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
