The 126th Somerset County Fair Returns
The 126th Somerset County Fair runs August 21 to 29 in Meyersdale, with livestock shows, grandstand thrills, exhibits and the Penn Valley Shows carnival.
The Somerset County Fair is back for its 126th year, and it is a nine-day affair.
The fair runs August 21 through 29 at the fairgrounds on Mt. Davis Road in Meyersdale. Admission is $12 a person, and parking is $2 a car.
This is a real county fair, the kind that has been going since 1900. Expect 4-H and FFA livestock shows all week, some of the largest and best in the state, along with an exhibit hall full of quilts, preserves, baked goods and photography. The grandstand fills every night with the good stuff: a demolition derby, tractor and truck pulls, racing and figure-8. The Penn Valley Shows carnival lights up the midway from August 24 through 29, and the fair food is exactly what you are hoping for. Funnel cakes, barbecue, kettle corn.
It all happens right here in the Laurel Highlands, a short drive over the mountain from Confluence.
