The Trail Town Quilt Show is coming back this year, and Susan Wineke needs help hanging it.

The show runs all three days of PumpkinFest: Friday, October 2, from 2 to 4 p.m.; Saturday, October 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, October 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Heirloom quilts, full-size quilts, baby quilts and wall hangings. Everything is there to look at, and much of it is for sale. There is free family pumpkin carving on Saturday.

Wineke is coordinating this year’s show for the Confluence Creative Arts Center. She is the same Susan Wineke who has taught quilting classes there. Amy Childers and Deb Strickland ran the show in past years and got a thank-you in the announcement, which they earned.

The volunteer list is the part that still needs filling. The arts center is looking for people to contribute a quilt for display, help with setup or tear down, check in submitted quilts on Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, spend an hour or so watching over the show during PumpkinFest weekend, or simply tell people it is happening.

Anyone who can do any of that should email Susan Wineke at susan.e.wineke@comcast.net. Same address if you want to put a quilt in the show.

Worth remembering while you are looking at the walls: the arts center basement took nearly two feet of water in the August flood, and stacks of fabric were among what got ruined. Six weeks later they are hanging quilts again.
