Feb26–27
Festival of Scrolling Panoramic Art
The Confluence Creative Arts Center hosts its 11th Festival of Scrolling Panoramic Art on Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27. Community potluck at 6:30 p.m. each night, show at 7, by donation.
Crankies are an old form of entertainment: music, stories or poetry set against back-lit artwork that scrolls past inside a viewing box. The festival brings in some of the most accomplished crankie performers in the country, and the Arts Center counts it as a signature event.
Local kids from the Crankie Kids Workshops perform their own piece as part of the weekend.
Two nights, a dark room and a long painting going by. It holds up.
