If you’ve ever wanted to experience the magic of hand‑carved woodblock prints up close, mark your calendar for this Saturday, May 9. Tissue Farm’s spring show featuring Eddie Spaghetti officially opens April 17 and runs through June 1, but the artist’s opening reception is May 9 from 5 – 7 p.m. .
Eddie Spaghetti is a mountain‑loving printmaker based in Morgantown, WV. He discovered his calling during a trip to Australia where he learned woodcut printmaking . His process involves carving designs into a slab of wood, inking the surface and pressing it onto handmade paper, producing bold, energetic images . His subjects draw on a deep reverence for nature—think rivers, raptors, trees and other Appalachian landscapes . Beyond woodblocks, he also dabbles in pottery, batik and mural painting and loves sharing his skills through workshops .
Tissue Farm will be decked out with his woodblock prints, original pieces and “other strange and wonderful things” . The May 9 reception is a relaxed opportunity to meet Eddie, browse his work and chat with the artist over coffee and light refreshments . The opening is free and open to the public—no tickets needed .
Join us this Saturday at Tissue Farm in Confluence, PA to celebrate this remarkable body of work and the extraordinary talent behind it. You’ll leave inspired by Eddie’s passion for carving and his love of the natural world. Bring a friend, enjoy some snacks and immerse yourself in art rooted in the mountains we call home.
