Save Your Holiday Trash: The Arts Center Wants It for Eco-Art Camp
The Confluence Creative Arts Center seeks upcycled material donations by July 12 for its Eco-Art Camp, and registration is open one more week for summer camps.
As you clean up after the holiday weekend, the Confluence Creative Arts Center has an unusual request. Do not throw all of it out. Some of that trash is exactly what they need.
The center is collecting upcycled materials for its Creepy Crawly Eco-Art Camp, which starts July 13. They are looking for shoe boxes, flattened cardboard boxes, small empty plastic drink bottles (no two-liters), small empty yogurt and pudding cups, and roof tiles. Drop-offs can go on the front stoop or inside the foyer at the arts center, 533 Williams Street, through July 12.
There is also still time to sign up a young artist or performer. Registration is open for one more week for two summer camps: Eco-Art Camp, for ages 7 to 14, and Summer Theatre Camp, for kindergarten through 12th grade. You can register online, and the center asks that you spread the word.
So before you haul the recycling to the curb, set a few things aside. One person’s empty yogurt cup is another kid’s creepy crawly.
