BREAKING: Confluence Borough Council Votes to Install First Traffic Light
After nearly four hours of deliberation, Borough Council voted 4-3 to install a traffic light at Route 281 and Main Street. A motion to add a left-turn arrow failed by 1 vote.
After nearly four hours of deliberation Tuesday evening, Confluence Borough Council voted 4-3 to install the borough’s first traffic light at the corner of Route 281 and Oden Street.
The decision, described by one council member as “long overdue,” prompted spirited debate over signal timing, the impact on the morning Corn Hole crowd in the Town Park, and whether Confluence was, in fact, ready for this.
A motion to add a left-turn arrow failed 3-4.
Installation is expected to begin sometime after the river thaws, the damn breaks, the trail opens, and everyone has had a chance to think about it.
