Kids and teens in and around Confluence are invited to build a crankie together at the Confluence Creative Arts Center over four Sunday sessions: January 31 and February 7, 14 and 21, each running 4 to 6 p.m. The cost is $30 per family, a one time fee, and registration is through confluencecreativearts.org.

Participants work as a group to make the artwork for a crankie, a scrolling painted panorama turned through a viewing box. Along the way they pick up stage presence, singing with a group, and what it takes to carry a piece of an act.

The finished crankie gets performed at the Festival of Scrolling Panoramic Art on February 26 and 27. Four Sundays of work, then the lights go down and it is their show.
