Paddlers Wanted to Pull Tires from the Yough July 11
Experienced paddlers can help the Mountain Watershed Association pull tires from the Youghiogheny River at the Yough Community Tire Round Up on July 11.
The Mountain Watershed Association and Three Rivers Waterkeeper are putting out a call for experienced paddlers to help haul tires out of the Youghiogheny River on Saturday, July 11. The Yough Community Tire Round Up starts at 9 a.m. in Industry, where parking is available.
The job is simple to describe and harder to do: float the stretch of river between West Newton and Buena Vista, pull tires off the river bottom and stack them on the banks. The organizers have already arranged for the tires to be picked up and hauled away. They just need people with boats to do the pulling.
This one is for experienced boaters only, and it is self-guided. Bring your own boat.
